Laverstoke Park Farm thoughts on Christeyns Food Hygiene’s Butterklenz
As a leading supplier to the cheese industry in the UK Christyens Food Hygiene have developed a unique product for cleaning cheese moulds whilst also providing the necessary degree of slip to easily remove product without damage. Butterklenz was originally developed for the butter moulding sector but has been found to be exceptional in the cheese industry in this application.
Specialist cheese manufacturer Laverstock Farm have found the benefits of this innovative technology and have put pen to paper to describe their experience.
“At Laverstoke Park Farm we have previously had issues in different stages of the year due to seasonal variance and milk composition making the cheese sticking to the machine, which causes production and cleaning issues.
I spoke with David about the issues the company had previously had, he recommended we have a trial on a product that was used a butter facilities. This was Butterklenz.
The mechanical makeup of Butterklenz prevents products from being attached and stuck to the sides of the machine and helps them slide off the surface. Making it easier for the product to go through the process, reduce product waste and making it easier to wash down and clean the machine.
Laverstoke Park Farm has benefited from using Butterklenz during the trial, so after a month’s trial we reviewed our findings with the cheese makers who had noticed a significant improvement whilst using Butterklenz and have decided as a company to switched over to Butterklenz permanently. – Barry Furey, Technical Manager at Laverstoke Park Farm”.
